$25 Off $75 Amazon Purchase (via AmEx Offers)

This is a pretty sweet deal for those with an AmEx credit card… During the month of December, you can get $25 off $75 at Amazon.com.

Based on my read of this offer, it looks like you can get the discount for a total of $75 in Amazon purchases anytime during the month, as opposed to requiring a $75 one-time purchase to qualify for the discount.

Update: This offer has expired. Sorry!

But if you’re looking to lock this in now, you can buy a $75 e-gift card and add it to your account so the balance is available for future use.

Claiming the bonus

To qualify for this offer, start by logging into your AmEx account. Next, scroll down on the account summary page to find and click on the “Offers For You” tab, which is pictured below (click to enlarge).

You should be presented with a list of offers that are available for your card, and at/near the top of the list should be the $25 off $75 offer from Amazon. It will look like the image below (click to enlarge).

Click the button on the right to “Save Offer.” The offer details state that you’ll:

Get a one-time $25 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a total of $75 or more online at Amazon.com by 12/31/2013.

That’s it. Within 90 days of the end of this promo, you should receive a $25 statement credit. For the record, AmEx has (in my experience) always posted rewards very quickly, so I doubt it will be anywhere near the full 90 days.

Note that there’s also a direct signup page if you’d rather not go in through your account. If you’d prefer to go that route, you’ll just need to have your AmEx credit card number handy so they can link the offer to your card.

Multiple discounts

On the direct sign-up page, it states that “You may register more than one Card for this offer, but only those Cards you register individually will be eligible for the offer.” You know what that means, right?

Because AmEx assigns different numbers to multiple cards on the same account, those with multiple cards or accounts should be able to qualify for this offer multiple times. At $25 a pop, that can add up fast.

Note: This is similar to the Small Business Saturday wording, and they’ve always honored a separate bonus for each registered card for that promo.

We have two AmEx accounts with two cards each, so I’ve registered all four cards and will buy e-gift cards with each of them. When all is said and done, we’ll pocket $100 in total discounts on $300 in spending.

That’s great info. I heard about the offer but didn’t know exactly how to grab it. I’ll definitely be signing up here shortly.
