I was going to quit Audible.com last month, until…
I’ve probably gone back and forth with Audible subscriptions three times, maybe more. They make the introductory offers irresistable. Now they have 3 months for $7.49 each.
I did the intro offer, planned to pump and dump… then along came Warren Buffett. Arrrgh! Now I’m doing a month of the Platinum plan for $22.95. Then I’m OUT! I mean it this time. I think the trick is to unsubscribe immediately after your last download. Not because of laziness or forgetfulness, but to have less time for temptation. There is always something interesting being released.
If you are a first-time subscriber, you can cancel online. If you are a churner, you have to call to cancel. This is an interesting compromise on the "call-to-cancel" model. First-timers have low barriers to entry & exit. Churners work a little harder, but it is worth it.
