There was a time when your credit score was a closely guarded (and costly) secret. But that’s been changing.
And now Discover has joined them. From here on out, Discover it cardholders will get their latest FICO credit score printed on their monthly statements. You don’t need to do anything other than keep an eye on your statement.
As for the difference between the two offers… The Discover it card has no annual fee, making this the closest thing to free, ongoing access to your official FICO credit score that you’re likely to find.
In contrast, the Barclaycard Arrival has an $89 annual fee, but that’s offset by a signup bonus 40k reward points, worth up to $444 cash upon redemption.
As an aside, my score has increased by eight points since I last checked…
