We got the 2009 book, but cancelled future editions. We don’t know how often we’ll get out after the newborn. The only thing we know we’ll use is $20 at Shop ‘N’ Save. In theory, the grocery coupons provide a baseline for savings…

However…

  • If grocery coupons skip a year, the value is less certain.
    If we wait, we know if grocery coupons are included.
  • Auto-subscribers pay the full retail price (free shipping).
    Throughout the year, the book starts to drop in price.

Little stuff, to be sure, but part of the larger start-from-stratch assault on subscriptions. I’ll leave the renewal decision to DW, our Chief Frugality Officer.

  • Step #1 - do NOT bother to look for an online option
  • Step #2 - call 1-888-231-7283 / 1-888-231-SAVE
  • Step #3 - press 1 for membership issues
  • Step #4 - press 0 for general questions
  • Step #5 - tell CSR you want to cancel

Cancelling was not bad, at all. The wait time was very short. The operator was very friendly. The ease of cancellation actually makes it more likely we will sign up again.
