It Is Not Easy To Read As Many Books As I Used To Buy!

Posted by Sean | Posted under Doh!, Expenses | July 22, 2008

Okay, so I’m plugging away at my goal of "saving" $500 in book expense by using the public library in 2008. I’ve had a book out almost nonstop and keep adding to my financial library. I feel like I’ve learned a lot (hope I’m not kidding myself here :-)) and connected a lot of dots.

But I think the odds are against me getting to $500.

I know, I know… the year is barely halfway through and I have not even done the math yet, but the little progress bar in my head says I’m getting behind. Plus, the second half of this year will be so crazy…

Hey, wait a sec… in 2007, I spent $928.25 at Amazon! It was not 100% books, but still…

Spending that money was EASY. Reading a little more than half of that total is HARD WORK. Not a rocket science concept, I know, but this exercise has "brought it home" in a new way.

Good for you if you can read $500 worth of books from the library this year! I’ve also recently just started going to my local library and it’s more pleasant and easier than I thought. Read 4 books last week, picked up another 3-4 for this week. Mostly personal finance books, actually:)

One that I would recommend to everyone is “Your Money or Your Life.”
