Have you ever wondered why cheap booze gives you a nasty hangover? It’s due to impurities known as congeners that are produced during fermentation and are left over after the distillation process. Better booze is distilled more times, so there’s less in the way of congeners left behind.

As an aside, it’s possible to improve cheap booze with a charcoal filter. I’m not saying that it’s worth the trouble, just that it’s possible. And yes, staying hydrated will help combat a hangover no matter what you’re drinking.

Thanks for the mention!

As for cheap booze, I tend to avoid that…along with really any drinking at all actually. Tends to bother my sinuses (part of getting older?). Back in college, the cheap booze was the way to go 🙂

Being hydrated is a good thing, each day actually!
