Money Roundup: Disney Price Increase Edition

Well… Disney (DIS) has released the details surrounding their annual price hikes. Effective today, single-day prices (for ages 10+) at Disneyland are increasing from $87 to $92. Multi-day and Park Hopper ticket prices are also increasing.

At Disney World, the situation will be slightly more complex. Single-day tickets at Magic Kingdom are increasing from $89 to $95, whereas single-day tickets for Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios will be priced at $90.

This is the first time they’ve had different pricing at different WDW parks. It’ll be interesting to see how they implement this change. It won’t matter so much for Park Hopper tickets, but it could get complicated for single-park tickets.

As before, it should still be possible to get discounted tickets by buying through a ticket reseller, though those prices will likewise be increasing.

And now… Here are some articles that caught my eye this past week:

That’s all for now. I hope you’ve been having an enjoyable and relaxing weekend!

We recently got a three day three park offer from Disney world, exclusive for Florida residents, at $119. Needless to say, we used it.

I haven’t been to Disneyland in ages, but the last time I went it was expensive and then we didn’t even have that much fun (the lines were too long, the rides weren’t working, the park ran out of bottled water, etc.) The Anaheim park is really old and needs some updating!

Thanks for including my article.

By the time I have kids ready to go to Disney, will they be ready to accept kidneys :)?

When I was little, my dad took me and my brothers to Shoney’s in the morning and told us to stuff our faces because we weren’t buying anything in the park. I think I will implement the same policy. Helps build financial character in a kid!

Haven’t been to Disneyland in a while. Maybe when our kid is 5 or 6. He’s not really into the whole Disney thing though.
