Money Roundup: Life is Good Edition

by Michael on Oct 12, 2012

As I write this, I’m sitting in the backyard enjoying an evening by the fire. The air is cool, the bugs are making a racket, and our kids are playing touch football in near darkness. Life is good. In fact, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, I hope that you’re having an equally good time. With that said…

Here are some articles that caught my eye over the past week:

  • Stocks or Bonds in Roth? – Should you put high risk (and thus [hopefully] high reward) assets in your Roth account(s)? This article argues that you should focus on other considerations when deciding on optimal asset locations.
  • Romney’s Tax Prep Blunder – An interesting read that provides an alternative view of how Romney could have managed his taxes to pay even less than he did while having a higher (effective) rate. Aren’t taxes fun?
  • The ‘Lake Wobegon Effect’ of Investing – Are the majority of active investors above average? Nope. But they seem to think they are.

That’s it. Happy reading!
