Money Roundup: One of Those Weeks Edition

Ever have “one of those weeks”? I just did. I was so completely slammed at work and in my personal life (but mostly at work) that I could barely come up for air. And that was reflected here, as I only managed to publish one article.

The early part of this coming week looks similar. Things will hopefully smooth out after that. But hey, life is good, so I’m not complaining. Really, I’m not. 🙂

And now… Here are some articles that caught my eye this past week:

  • Wealth Inequality in Motion – Fascinating video on the distribution of wealth in the United States. Definitely worth a watch.
  • Demolition Man – A nice reminder of why we need to save for the future. At some point, it would be nice to transition from working yourself to death to letting your dollars do the work for you.
  • Risk and Investment – While there is risk involved with investing, there’s an even bigger risk associate with not investing.
  • What is a Closed End Fund? – In short, it’s a mutual fund with a fixed number of shares, similar to an actual stock. I’ve never owned one. Have you?
  • Asset Location: Value-Added for Portfolio Design? – Our tax-advantaged space is completely filled with bonds (plus some tax-exempt bonds in taxable). What about you? Do you do something similar?
  • When I Was a New Financial Advisor – A behind-the-scenes look at financial advising from the perspective of a (formerly) new financial advisor.

That’s it. Hope you had a great weekend.
