Remember when I got a speeding ticket? Well, after a bit of consideration, and with my court date looming, I decided to just go ahead and pay the fine without fighting it. Could I have gotten it reduced? Possibly. But it wasn’t worth the trouble.
I waited as long as I did, in part, because I didn’t want to run the risk of State Farm running my driving record and discovering the ticket when I filed the claim for tire damage. That’s now settled, so I decided to go ahead with the ticket.
In paying the fine, I’m effectively pleading guilty and the ticket will presumably hit my driving record shortly thereafter. After speaking with our agent, I wouldn’t expect a single citation to affect our rates, but you never know, so I waited.
And now… Here are some articles that caught my eye this past week:
- Is Social Security a Good Deal? — Depending on your situation, you may get way more — or way less — out of Social Security than you paid in.
- Inside Vanguard’s International Bond Funds — We don’t have any international bonds in our portfolio, what about you?
- Happy Trails With Income Poor — Once you’ve built up sufficient assets, it’s possible to make small amounts of income go quite far.
- Averting the Cryptopocalypse — It’s only a matter of time until our current interesting article on the future of cryptography.
That’s it. Hope you’ve been having a great weekend.
