Money Roundup: Tax Filing Season Edition

It’s official. As of this past Friday, the 2013 income tax filing season is open. This is 10 days later than it would have been thanks to the government shutdown.

Once you file, you can expect your refund (if any) to arrive within ca. 21 days after your return is received. If you’re looking to speed things up, consider e-filing and getting your refund via direct deposit.

As for us… We’re nowhere near ready. But I’ll be sorting through things over the next week or so and starting to get our paperwork organized in advance of our as-of-yet unscheduled appointment with our tax guy.
