Posted by Sean | Posted under Best-Of | June 21, 2008

Reading

Relocating to Reduce Retirement Costs (my-wealth-builder.blogspot.com) Soooo many variables, just related to taxes (Income, Property, Sales, Retirement Accts, Social Security)… and ohbytheway, cost of living.

Banks Find New Ways To Ease Pain of Bad Loans (online.wsj.com) (subscription, but the first two paragraphs give you an idea) …in bad times, good luck finding an honest statistic.

Watching

(7 minutes) WealthTrack 322 Part 1 | 11-30-07 interview with Jason Zweig (author of Your Money & Your Brain) about "neural economics" and "prediction addiction"

(5 minutes) WealthTrack 322 Part 2 | 11-30-07 interview with Nassim Taleb (author of The Black Swan) about the nature of rare, random events.

Quoting

"Formal Education gets you a job, Self education gets you rich." (MoneyMonk)

"All models are wrong; some are useful." (The Big Picture)

"Now, I can understand being upset that buying a gallon of gas now requires doing without more of this other stuff. But look on the bright side: each gallon of gas you conserve now buys you more other stuff." (Markeplace)

Redesigning

FinancialRamblings has a new look!
